Privacy Policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
Postware is a tool that film and television productions use to gather, check and approve their end credits. This policy explains what information Postware handles, why, and the choices you have. “We” and “us” mean Postware.
Who this applies to
- People with a Postware login — show admins, department heads, line producers and Postware staff.
- People named in credits — cast and crew whose names a production enters. Most never log in.
- Visitors to postware.tv, including anyone who uses our contact form.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, the shows and departments you're added to, and your sign-in settings (such as whether two-step sign-in is on).
- Credits information a production enters: names, credit names, positions, departments, and optionally email addresses and billing or contract notes. Productions may import this from a payroll list.
- Activity on the credits: who changed what and when, comments and approvals. This history is a core feature — it's how productions see every change to their credits.
- Messages you send us through the contact form or support page.
- Technical information: basic logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request) kept by our hosting providers for security and troubleshooting. For contact-form spam protection we keep only a one-way fingerprint of the IP address.
How we use it
- To run Postware for the productions that use it: showing each person only what their role allows, sending invitations and password emails, notifications, and producing exports.
- To keep accounts secure and to prevent abuse.
- To answer messages and provide support.
We don't sell personal information, we don't show ads, and we don't use credits information for anything other than providing the service to the production that entered it.
Productions control their credits
The credits for a show belong to the production that entered them. That production decides who is listed, what is recorded, and who on their team can see it. If you're named in a production's credits and want something corrected or removed, the quickest route is to contact that production. You can also contact us and we'll pass your request on and help.
Who we share it with
Information is visible to the people a production gives access to, according to their role. Beyond that, we use a small number of service providers to run Postware:
- Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — sending emails such as invitations and password resets.
These providers process information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and security of Postware and its users.
Cookies
Postware uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Security
Access rules are enforced in the database itself, so each person can only reach the shows and departments they've been given. Connections are encrypted, passwords are never stored in readable form, and two-step sign-in is available to everyone. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of a breach as required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep account and credits information while the production's account is active, and afterwards for as long as the production needs it or the law requires. Messages to us are kept as long as needed to deal with them. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
- You can update your name, credit name, email, password and two-step sign-in from your profile.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our contact form. Where your information is part of a production's credits, we'll work with that production on the request.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we'll honor them.
Children
Postware logins are for adults working on productions. Productions may list minors (for example, young cast members) in their credits; they are responsible for having the right to do so.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let account holders know.
